Concert 3: Arcade Fire w/ the National

I just returned from my third concert. This time I went to see the Arcade Fire, with the National as the opening band. Terrific concert! This was the largest one I've been to so far, so it was definitely different and amazing. For those who may be unfamiliar with their music, I've posted a few tracks below. Arcade Fire's just won the Grammy for Album of the Year for "The Suburbs." They also did the Wilderness Downtown project that worked with Google Chrome and Google Earth. Check both bands out, I'm sure you'll love them!

New Beastie Boys - Make some noise

I just saw the new Beastie Boys music video and it is pretty damn phenomenal. Not only is there a video, but there is also a 30 minute long mini-movie version of it also entitled "Fight for your right (Revisited)". This thing is so star studded too, see how many you recognize. The single is "Make Some Noise" off of their upcoming album Hot Sauce Committee Part 2. It will be the group's ninth studio album and lands May 3rd.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy episode I

The first episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy just debuted, and I must say not too shabby. Some of you may have seen the video project by Kevin Tancharoen that was a pitch for a real world scenario Mortal Kombat movie, Rebirth. Well they've decided to take it and make it a mature-rated webseries. The debut ep was pretty action packed and introduced some of the main characters: Kano, Sonya, Jax, and Stryker, many of which are played by some familiar faces of Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek fame.

Be your own souvenir

This is very cool. In Barcelona they set up a project called "Be Your Own Souvenir." You can make a pose and the machine will create a 3d figure for you!

Matt & Kim Concert

Thursday I got to see Matt & Kim in concert and I had a blast! It was so energetic. They managed to segue from their hi-energy indie rock straight into Biz Markie's "You got what I need" and Alice Deejay's trance classic "Better off Alone." This was a great second concert to go to. For those who aren't familiar with the Brooklyn duo, I've taken the liberty of enlightening you below. It is physically impossible to be anything but happy when listening to these two. (and yes they consist of primarily just a drumset and a keyboard).

You may have heard "Daylight" from last year's Bacardi spot:
