The Movie Magic of Sound

This is a neat little video about the art of Foley, or making sounds for movies. It features foley artist Gary Hecker as he gives insight to this crucial piece of movie making magic.

Great scott!!!! A REAL time traveller?

Hahaha, I logged onto the internet and the first headline on Yahoo! was this:

Also, it's the 25th anniversary for "Back to the Future" and to coincide the bluray edition of the trilogy was also released. I will be buying this real soon! Here's a little piece of trivia I didn't know about...did you know Michael J. Fox wasn't originally cast as Marty McFly??? I couldn't believe it either. Read the article here.

Scott Pilgrim's Clash of Demonhead video for Metric's "Black Sheep"

For those who don't already know, "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" is out in theaters. I loved the movie (and now the comics)...the music is awesome also. Here is the music video by the band Metric who's song "Black Sheep" is used for the band the Clash of Demonhead in the film.

A new movie by Aaron Sorkin is coming out called "The Social Network" starring Jessie Eisenberg ("Zombieland") who plays Mark Zuckerberg and chronicles the creation of Facebook. The movie is based on Ben Mezrich's book "Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal." And for all the ladies, the film also stars Justin Timberlake. Moon

If you have Netflix you should check out the movie "Moon" starring Sam Rockwell ("Galaxy Quest" and "Hitchhiker's Guide"). Rockwell plays Sam Bell who has signed a three year contract to harvest Helium-3 on the moon for Lunar Industries. His only companion is a computer system named Gwerty who is voiced by Kevin Spacey. The movie takes place within his last two weeks before returning home to be with his wife and daughter where he begins to lose his sanity, or so he thinks. Things take a twist as he learns more about what he is doing there. This was a phenomenal movie that I wasn't expecting. I've always liked Sam Rockwell but he really shows his acting prowess here. Another factoid is this movie was directed by Duncan Jones, son of David Bowie.
