Mercury Rev is today's musical find. Their sound is unique and mystical. I'd say, the calm wonderment of Coldplay + the industrial electric sounds of late 90's David Bowie. They're often compared to the Flaming Lips, for good reason, considering lead singer Jonathan Donahue played with them from 1989-1991. Mercury Rev's recently come out with two cd's. The first was "Snowflake Midnight," and the second, Strange Attractor," is free to download on their web page: http://www.mercuryrev.com/"Snowflake in a Hot World" (no music video, but my fave of theirs)
